Samosa Chaat
Samosa chaat is a popular Indian street food that consists of crispy fried samosas that are crushed and topped with a variety of flavorful ingredients. The samosas are typically filled with spiced potatoes and peas, and the chaat is made with a base of chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, and coriander. Tamarind and mint chutneys are then drizzled over the top, along with yogurt, sev (crunchy chickpea noodles), and a blend of aromatic spices such as chaat masala and cumin. The result is a mouthwatering and satisfying snack that combines sweet, savory, tangy, and spicy flavors in every bite.
I had some homemade samosas in the freezer from when I made them a while ago so it was really easy to assemble. Obviously you can use ready made ones too!
Here’s the recipe for Sanj’s chutney:
1 cup of chopped coriander (stems and all)
A handful of mint leaves
1/2 inch piece of ginger
1 tsp of black salt (normal salt is also okay)
Juice of half a lemon
1 tsp cumin powder
2 green chillis or 1 if you want it less spicy
4 tbsp of water or more for a more runnier consistency
And I just used @maggi_uk tamarind sauce which comes in a bottle for the tamarind chutney!
